For more than 70 years, the Brandenburger Group has been a worldwide leader in the market for high-tech composite materials. Our consistent focus on innovation, customer orientation, and a high level of technical expertise have made Brandenburger a globally recognised partner in the field of heat protection technology.
Since the early 1990s, the company has also been one of the leading providers of pipe liner technology for trenchless sewer rehabilitation.
Brandenburger Thermal Insulation
Products and innovations by Brandenburger Thermal Insulation can be found wherever heat protection, temperature resistance and compressive strength, energy efficiency and protection of machines and plants are crucial. Thermal insulation systems, friction bearings, and rotor blades are the core competencies in the field of insulation technology. Brandenburger develops and manufactures specialised high-precision insulation for use as ablation material in the aerospace industry. Brandenburger Thermal Insulation also offers consulting services on process optimisation and develops customer-specific solutions using a wide range of construction materials.
Brandenburger has been researching technology for trenchless sewer rehabilitation since the early 1990s. Today the company is one of the leading manufacturers. The seamless, light-curing GFRP pipe liner was developed by Brandenburger based on many years of experience with glass-fibre reinforced plastics and has been patented worldwide. It is manufactured in-house. It is used to rehabilitate damaged sewers safely and durably in record time. Numerous partners all over the world are reaping success by making use of Brandenburger's modern UVA light-curing equipment, technical service and application technology.
Expertise and Innovation Through Own Research
Innovation has always been one of the secrets behind the success of the Brandenburger Group. The work of our own research and development department has resulted in the Brandenburger Group's ownership of numerous national and international patents. Through close collaboration with independent institutions, universities and prominent companies in the plastics industry, as well as through developments resulting from collaboration with customers, Brandenburger has been able to continuously advance its product range.
No-compromise quality, compliant with DIN EN ISO 9001
Brandenburger products safeguard the functionality of machines and systems, reduce energy consumption and protect the environment. Therefore Brandenburger assigns highest priority to maintaining a consistently high product quality. With this no-compromise attitude towards quality, Brandenburger has obtained a leading position in the market. The Brandenburger quality management system (QM system) was specially developed for this purpose. It was certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 as early as 1994.
Never content to stand still, we have continuously and consistently developed our company processes.
Now as then it has always been our express goal to fulfil the individual requirements and demands of our customers. As a result of these efforts, our company was successfully certified in accordance with DIN EN 9001:2000 in 2003. This is a testimony to our successful policies and will continue to serve as a basis for our long-term business relationships with our customers.
We consistently strive to achieve the following business objectives:
- To keep our company profitable
- To secure our market position and continue to grow
- To fulfil today's and future customer requirements and keep our customers satisfied
- To secure existing work places
- To ensure safety and cleanliness at our work places
- To integrate our employees so that they assume responsibility for their own work and hence increase a sense of mutual trust and respect throughout our company
- To protect the environment and make economical use of resources
The foundations for our global success are close customer relations and our own research and development department. Here our engineers develop and test new materials and create specific solutions to match the requirements of our customers.
The goal of these processes is to ensure product safety for our customers, our employees and the environment.
Brandenburger Thermal Insulation cooperates with partners in 22 countries, mainly in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. Almost all of the required equipment is designed and manufactured in-house. Our interdisciplinary know-how and our own research and development department allow us to offer highly competent consulting services on process optimisation of thermal insulation for machines and systems.
Brandenburger Thermal Insulation specialises in the following fields:
Heat Protection with a System
Brandenburger Thermal Insulation develops and produces heat protection plates for heated presses and moulds used in the plastics, rubber, and chipboard industries. These materials prevent energy loss and excessive heat emissions. External insulation on heat plates for reducing emision losses and flexible insulation systems for surface insulation of connection lines round out the thermal insulation products on offer.
Friction Bearing Materials / Rotor Blades
Brandenburger has developed special heat -resistant materials with excellent abrasion and frictional properties for highly demanding applications. These materials are used in pumps, turbines and rolling mills, as rotor blades in compressors and vacuum pumps, and as sliding strips in mechanical engineering applications.
High-temperature Insulation Materials
Combined with various other insulation components in fixed structures, these materials are suitable for temperatures of up to 1000°C. Some of the classic applications include sole plates and circular blanks in inductive soldering, clamps and fasteners in pipeline construction, especially in district heating, panelling for inductive coils, coil shells in electromagnetic induction pumps, explosion chambers in contactors and relays, as well as receptacles in the glass and steel industries.
In a long cooperation with companies in the aerospace industry, Brandenburger has developed special ablation materials for combustion chamber panelling in rocket engines. These materials are especially suitable as heat shields against rocket emission streams on launch towers and ramps for space rockets. These materials are subject to intensive quality requirements and have excellent heat insulation and resistance properties with optimum ablation resistance.
In the meantime, sewer rehabilitation projects have been carried out in 26 different countries. 2,000,000 meters of DN 150 - 1000 liner have already been successfully installed.
On 1 July 2001, the Brandenburger Sewer Rehabilitation was established to bundle our research and development expertise with on-hands experience from many years of technical consulting and site monitoring. This enables us to perform the entire range of tasks related to sewer rehabilitation and to offer Brandenburger partners a comprehensive service for professional installation.
The range of services includes the following:
- UVA plant technologies (Brandenburger Pipe Relining)
- UVA engineering, plant construction as well as service and maintenance
- UVA accessories (for example, UVA lamps)
Public and private sewer operators have clear requirements for trenchless rehabilitation projects. They require that the rehabilitated sewers can be used for at least 50 years afterwards. This, in effect, defines the quality standards to be achieved. Only a thorough and well-organized quality management program, covering all steps from procurement to approval of the installed liner, will be able to meet these standards.
