The Brodie BiRotor Plus positive displacement meter is designed for accurate measurement of petroleum liquids in a variety of applications. The double case design combines the rugged durability and long service life of the traditional BiRotor meter with the improved accuracy and reliable pulse output demanded by today’s industry requirements.

The Brodie BV02 Check Valve is designed to provide smooth, shock-free opening and closure to prevent reverse flow. The Brodie BV03 is supplied as a basic valve with no controls. It is utilized as replacement or original equipment in applications where custom control is desired by the end user. As with all Brodie BV Control Valves, it may be adapted for hydraulic, pneumatic or solenoid pilot control.

The BV10 is the normally closed and the BV11 is the normally open version of this solenoid operated valve designed for remote on/off control applications. Select either NO or NC for required failsafe strategy. The pilot valve is a fully balanced, two-way valve with integral manual override features. The external piping is fitted with a strainer [pilot control line] and a needle valve for controlling the speed of closure and for sensitivity control. Typical applications include timing or cycling processes, batch control, dead-man, high level tank control or emergency shut-down.

Strainers are installed in pipelines upstream of meters, pumps, valves, and other flow stream equipment for protection against intrusion of pipe scale, welding splatter, and other foreign material. The use of a properly sized strainer, together with a basket of suitable mesh, reduces maintenance and chances of system failure due to foreign material in the flowing stream. Brodie Vertical In-Line Strainers are available in sizes 3” – 6” for maximum working pressures up to 285 psi (1,965 kPa). When it is known that large amounts of or iron oxide are present in a flowing stream, a large strainer should be used. Resins, gums or varnishes, will also cause the strainer basket to clog prematurely. Larger foreign matter such as pebbles, welding beads, etc., should be removed at frequent intervals to prevent abrasive action from damaging the basket screen.

The Brodie Compact Prover provides high accuracy, rapid operation and continuous flow for proving a flow meter in an operational line. Designed per API MPMS Chapter 4 standards, the Brodie Compact Prover can be utilized to verify the accuracy of almost any liquid flowmeter type, including positive displacement, turbine and manufactured pulse meters.
