About Us
Focus Means Value
Brown and Caldwell is the largest engineering consulting firm solely focused on the U.S. environmental sector. In a climate of tightening regulations, even tighter budgets and swift advances in technology to bridge the gap between compliance and funding, this focus has never been more important to our clients. It's also important to our employees. We love what we do. Here are some of our BC staff telling you what '100% Environmental' means to them.
Our History
Brown and Caldwell has built a reputation for collaborating with clients, adding value through innovation and building relationships that last. But we're also known for our legacy of environmental stewardship that goes back to Dave Caldwell, who, since founding of the company in 1947, insisted that BC's approach to plant design minimize energy use. A true visionary, he pioneered and advocated wastewater reuse long before it was fashionable. Dave's belief that the needs of society, our clients and the environment can co-exist remains an integral part of our culture and is readily seen in the innovations and advancements of the BC engineers and scientists who have since followed.

LEAPing Forward
At Brown and Caldwell, sustainability is a powerful approach to creating efficient, cost-effective solutions that promote environmental stewardship and long-term value for our clients. In 2010, Brown and Caldwell's BC Green Program expanded to include the Leadership in Environmental Actions and Programs (LEAP) certification, a unique program that tracks and recognize internal sustainability efforts in our office, around the country.
