Model Sigma and Sigma EXL - Reverse Buckling Rupture Disks

The Sta-Saf™ Rupture Disk System from BS&B Safety Systems offers an extensive range of high-performance rupture disks engineered for specific applications and pressure conditions. Key models include Sigma & Sigma EXL, which feature enhanced performance, LPS and LSR designed for low-pressure, scored reverse buckling, and SKr for low flow resistance scenarios. The RLS variant is tailored for medium to high pressure conditions, while the S-90 provides cross-scored medium to high-pressure performance. High cycling needs are met by FRS and FRL, with frustum reverse buckling technology, and JRS caters to non-scored, low-pressure conditions. The LPS Rupture Disk (Bursting Disc) was developed to provide low burst pressures from 5 psig (0.35 barg) using reverse buckling rupture disk technology. The LPS Rupture Disk (Bursting Disc), combined with the SRB-7RS® Safety Head, provides accuracy and reliability. The LPS uses SAF™ technology (Structural Apex Forming™) enabling very low burst pressures to be achieved with excellent opening characteristics.

The BS&B Type IPD Explosion Suppression System is an advanced safety solution designed to protect process enclosures from dust explosion hazards. Utilizing a Unitized Sensor with three individual pressure sensors, it detects early pressure rise stages linked with dust explosions. Upon activation, the Explosion Suppression Cannon discharges a food compatible sodium bicarbonate suppression agent to extinguish early combustion stages before they escalate into dangerous deflagrations. This sophisticated system ensures pressure spikes are controlled, thus safeguarding the structural integrity of the equipment. It's an essential protection measure for industrial environments dealing with combustible dust. BS&B also offers comprehensive solutions in explosion protection including chemical isolation systems, industrial venting, spark detection, and adheres to regulatory standards like NFPA 654 and OSHA's Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program.

The unique fail safe design of the RE™ type disk assures the disk cannot be installed incorrectly in the safety head as the disk will burst at its rated burst pressure in either direction. Additionally, the disk and safety head assembly may be installed in either direction between pipe flanges. A disk with a burst pressure of 22psig (1.52 bar) or above will withstand full vacuum.
