The high removal efficiency of impurities by the BTA wet mechanical pre-treatment allows recovery of the digestible organics from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste. The technology is characterized by its power in handling higher contents of contaminants in the organic fraction and therefore has multiple uses. Thus, the BTA® Process is ideal for MBT facilities with a methanization line.

This method achieves optimal utilization of the reactor volume of existing sewage sludge digestion towers in wastewater treatment plants to increase biogas production while making use of synergies in the water management process. The BTA® Hydromechanical pre-treatment produces a clean, homogeneous, easily manageable organic suspension, which can be processed in the existing digestion towers.

The reception and treatment of biowaste and/or commercial waste improves the profitability of an agricultural biogas plant by increased biogas production and gate fees for the waste treatment. Because of the efficient removal of contaminants, the produced homogeneous organic suspension can be co-digested in agricultural biogas plants and the clean digestate obtained can be spread on the fields.
