Bunting - Metal Sorting Eddy Current Separators (ECS)

The Eddy Current Separator is used widely in the recycling industry to either recover or remove non-ferrous metals from non-metallic materials. Different designs enable the separation of small (down to 3mm) and large non-ferrous metals. Bunting’s range of eddy current separators include both concentric and eccentric rotor designs that have evolved over a 30 years period of manufacture and supply. The range also includes laboratory-scale eddy current separators, examples of which are located in the UK Recycling Test Facility.

Bunting - Permanent and Electromagnetic Suspension Magnets

Suspension Magnets extract occasional tramp iron from a conveyed product stream on a conveyor belt or vibratory feeder. The Magnet block suspends above a conveyor with sling chains setting the magnet face at the correct angle for optimum extraction. The magnetic field attracts ferrous metal out of the conveyed material and onto the magnet face, remaining securely held until manually cleaned. This ensures that such tramp metal does not damage other processing plant such as crushers, screens, and conveyors. For cleaning, re-positioning the Electro Suspension Magnet away from the conveyor allows for safe discharge into a secure collection area when the magnet is de-energised. A Permanent Suspension Magnet suspended on a travelling trolley, allows easy movement away from the conveyor for manual cleaning.

Bunting - Bullet Magnetic Separators

The Bullet Magnet is one of the most common magnetic separators found in installations handling free-flowing dry bulk materials such as grain, flour and seeds. Flanges on the top and bottom of the Bullet Magnet enable easy installation into existing vertical pipelines and free-fall chutes which transport material.  Bullet Magnets consist of a stainless steel housing with a maintenance door on which the magnet system is attached to, the magnet system is positioned in the centre of the housing and therefore in the middle of the free-falling product stream. A splitting cone distributes the material homogeneously over the cylindric magnet system. The magnet element is either made out of Neodymium Iron Boron or Strontium Ferrite depending on the application. Guide stripes within the housing ensure that the material is directed as close as possible to the surface of the magnet.

Bunting - Drawer Filter Magnets

Bunting’s FF Series Drawer Magnets are perfectly suited for collecting and separating contaminant ferrous metal from gravity fed, dry, free flowing materials. Housed inside are the extremely strong Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets which do the capturing and holding of the tiny pieces of ferrous metal contaminant. Made specifically for the plastics industry, this is the only available drawer magnet design (exclusive to Bunting) that features temperature-compensated rare earth magnets. With that benefit on board, they are compatible with high temperature (up to 80°C) machines like extrusion, injection and blow moulding machines while still maintaining a maximum pulling power. Guaranteeing a level of durability and a reduction in downtime, this particularly impressive series of drawer magnets has been a leader in the industry for more than 40 years.
