Burgmann Packings runs two state-of the art Research & Development facilities in Istanbul, Turkey and Cixi, China. Both facilities are equipped with the latest Low Emission testing equipment and a variety of test rigs to conduct physical and chemical tests covering the most challenging global industry standards and customer specifications.

1. KAMMPROFILE GASKETS
Kammprofile gaskets are made of serrated metal carrier which is covered by soft sealing material like graphite or PTFE on both sides and can be used at an extremely low surface compression thanks to its design. It can be used as reliable high-performance gasket in flange connections, heat exchangers, manholes, covers or many other applications and can cover even fluctuating pressures and temperature cycles. Round or oval shaped serrated gaskets combined with different metal and covering layer material guarantee outstanding sealing performance. Of course, KAM gaskets fulfill the latest Fugitive Emission standards.

2. GRAPHITE RINGS WITH METAL CAP
Expanded graphite rings are manufactured from 100 % expanded graphite and contain no additional binders or fillers. The main characteristics of expanded graphite rings are their excellent compressibility, long-term flexibility, permanent resilience as well as wide chemical and high temperature resistance. At higher pressures and bigger clearances, especially in cover lid applications, the use of graphite rings with metal caps is recommended to prevent extrusion. At high temperatures, the metal cap minimizes the contact with the medium and protects against oxidation. Due to its brilliant recovery ability, graphite can compensate the changes in loads which are caused by pressure / temperature fluctuations, vibration or bolt tension. Therefore, expanded graphite rings guarantee a reliable sealing effect and operational safety.

3. SPIRAL WOUND GASKETS
Spiral Wound Gaskets are widely used in all industry sectors for flange connections, heat exchangers, manholes, covers and other applications. It´s an easy to handle and very solid gasket which offers outstanding reliability at high temperatures and pressures. Spiral Wound Gaskets can be used in load-bearing as well as in non-load bearing connections and fulfill the latest Low-E standards. Thanks to the availability of different material combinations for metal parts and filler it´s possible to design always the perfect gasket for the respective application and operating conditions. Burgmann Packings provides a 100% end-to-end traceability for all single parts for all Spiral Wound Gaskets.

4. GRAPHITE FOIL PACKING BPG 6559
Our high-performance packing BPG 6559 for low emission applications in all type of valves is not only fulfilling the standards according to ISO 15848 but also covering API 622 and Fire Safe standards. BPG 6559 is made of high purity graphite foil yarns, over-knitted with Inconel wires and equipped a high-temperature impregnation. Combined with an excellent manufacturing quality, this Low-E packing showed outstanding result in external API 622 test (2nd Edition) with average leakage of 1 PPMv without any packing adjustments. The outstanding performance make the BPG 6559 a true winner.
