Education for Children

Develop, coordinate and conduct a number of educational programmes for schools and its stakeholders. Using mainly a "cluster approach", the programme reaches out over 200000+ schools across the country today. From the very beginning, schools and the school system have been at the centre of a major part of CEE's programmes. The journey of school programmes of Centre at the national level started in 1985 through the National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) of the MoEF.

Experiencing Nature

Optimally utilize existing and new media networks as powerful means of reaching of the Community at large. CEE has several programmes on experiencing nature, guided by a strong belief in the value of learning through direct exposure, enhancing appreciation of the beauty and interrelatedness of nature, and promoting learning by methods that are inherently fun. It sharpens observation, brings fresh insights to the familiar and the obvious, compelling revision of popular beliefs and dispelling common misconceptions. Many individuals, having undergone such exposure, are inspired to embark on their own voyages of discovery about the environment.

Environment Education through Interpretation

Design interpretive programmes to transform the visits to zoos, national parks and other heritage sites, into exciting educational experiences. Interpretation is an educational activity that aims to reveal meanings and relationships through the use of original objects by first hand experience and by illustrative media rather than simply to communicate factual information. – Freeman Tilden, Interpreting Our Heritage (1957)
