Established in 1886, we are the world`s leading professional body for brewers, distillers and allied professionals. This was recognised by the grant of the Royal Charter in 2023, which has led to us transitioning to the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) on 1st January 2025. As the CIBD, we are committed to building on the legacy of the institute and to make our products and services more relevant to the drinks industry. Our strength lies in our international community spread across 90 countries and the high standards of our beverage qualifications which are seen as the benchmark by industry leaders. With the Chartership, we will showcase the professional standards and quality maintained by our members and qualification candidates.
