Clean Marine AS
Clean Marine is dedicated to emission cleaning only and is recognized as a highly competitive supplier of marine exhaust scrubbers. The R&D started already in 2004 as part of the Torvald Klaveness Group before Clean Marine was founded as a separate company in 2006. The first 1 MW pilot was built and tested at the MAN laboratory facility in Holeby (Denmark) during the period of 2004-2008. Then followed extensive tests onboard the 10 MW EGCS on the Panamax tanker “Baru” in 2009, the 0,6 MW demonstration and research installation at the research institute MARINTEK in Trondheim (Norway) from 2011, and the full-scale 10 MW installation onboard the 48 000 dwt. Handymax bulker “Balder” was the first commercial vessel to retrofit a Clean Marine scrubber onboard. Clean Marine`s head office is located at Lysaker, Oslo, Norway. We also have a global network of local sales agents and professional support services.
The system onboard Balder was fully certified in 2013 and this vessel was the first to enter the North American ECA using an EGCS as an equivalent to low-sulfur fuel.
