Climate Ride aims to create the most sustainable, low impact multi-day bike rides and hikes in the country. Here are some of the ways we reduce our carbon footprint and our impact on the planet!

Less Waste

You won’t see plastic cups, bottles, goodie bags or any of the throwaway waste that you typically see at sporting events. Cyclists and hikers often bring their own reusable water bottles and coffee mugs – everything they need to enjoy beverages on the trip! We offer plenty of non-bagged goodies, as well as drink coolers, at our snack stops, and downsize the unnecessary waste. In addition, we collect and recycle any cans and bottles that do crop up.

Sustainable Bike Jersey Fabrics

Climate Ride’s cycling jerseys are made with Primal’s Echofe’ fabric, which is sustainable and fully recyclable. The fabric even incorporates recycled coffee grounds! It is produced in a low-temperature, high-pressure, and energy-saving process. On top of its sustainable qualities, it has a 200% faster drying time, 3x the odor protection and 5x the UV protection than cotton. A win-win solution!

Vegan and Vegetarian Meal Options

Each participant gets to choose the meal plan which is right for them during our cycling and hiking events. On every trip, participants have the ability to choose a fully vegan or vegetarian meal option!

Carbon Offsets

While we know carbon offsets aren’t license to emit at will, purchasing them is a way to support projects that reduce carbon emissions, and raise awareness that you can’t reduce what you don’t measure. We offset all carbon emissions associated with our operations and office space, as well as staff travel to and from the charitable bike ride and hike events.
