Cooper Municipal Services was founded by Bob Cooper. Bob established the company after seeing the need for an independent service provider, specialising in the repair of refuse collection vehicles. The beginning of Coopers was that of a mobile service provider. 20 years later, the company boasts a 35,000 sq/ft fully equipped workshop with 2 acres of parking and storage. In 1998 Coopers were approached by Partek Cargotec who manufactured Hiab Cranes, Multilift demountables and Norba refuse collection vehicles. Coopers were then invited to be the West Midlands agent for the Norba product, soon progressing into repairing Cranes and demountables.
