Earth and Rockfill Dams Services

Cornforth Consultants offers a broad range of technical services for earth and rockfill dams. Our geotechnical/geology team has considerable experience on dam design and construction. Cornforth also acts as lead consultant for multidisciplinary teams to provide the skills needed for a complete dam design or safety inspection. Several of our engineers are recognized as Independent Consultants by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Reservoirs, Canals and Levees Services

Cornforth Consultants provides services for dam, canal and levee owners including site safety inspections, levee rehabilitation design studies, shoreline protection and stabilization design, new embankment design and construction, dam raises and modifications, and emergency response for dam and levee safety evaluations. In the past few years, Cornforth Consultants has completed levee rehabilitation and/or seepage evaluation projects for levees, embankment dams and canal embankments owned by the Corps of Engineers, Cowlitz County Diking Districts, Multnomah County Drainage District, Portland General Electric, City of Portland Water Bureau, and Eugene Water & Electric Board.

Landslides and Rockfall Services

We are a Portland, Oregon-based geotechnical firm established in 1983, specializing in complex landslide and rockfall evaluations and remediations. Our expertise has allowed us to provide these services both nationally and internationally for a wide range of transportation, power generation, natural resource and other lifeline infrastructure clients. Earthquake Engineering Services

Bull Run Dam No. 2 Cornforth Consultants provides investigation and engineering services to address seismically sensitive foundation and embankment conditions. Areas of specialty include regional seismicity, design earthquakes, evaluation of active faults, liquefaction analysis, dynamic soil-structure interaction, slope stability, and ground response.

Cornforth Consultants provides a team of geologists with the expertise to evaluate the presence and degree of such hazards as landslides, rockfall, seismicity, soft ground, and erosion.
