We have been established for nearly 25 years, changing the face of the storage and collection of refuse in the UK, initially from dustbins to the first paper sacks, and the now familiar black plastic sacks. As well as a huge range of sacks, bags and bin liners, we offer speciality products and a plastics recycling service. We are a leading supplier of refuse sacks, bags and bin liners to councils and the waste management, healthcare, cleaning and hygiene sectors. Our centrally located distribution facility provides daily delivery of stock products on our own fleet of vehicles. We collect materials like used packaging films, containers, transit packaging, and process waste, on a back-load basis. They are taken back to our dedicated recycling facility, for grading, then baling, or granulating before being returned to the production cycle.

As a business we are committed to supplying fit for purpose products with the lowest environmental impact for a net ecological gain. We supply both polyethylene sacks made from virgin and/or recycled blends (up to 100% recycled material) and compostable sacks, for the storage and collection of organic waste. In addition to our extensive stock range we offer a bespoke service for the supply of plain and printed bags to meet specific customer requirements.

We work closely with our customers – local authorities and waste management companies, cleaning and janitorial distributors, clinical waste professionals within the healthcare sector, the automotive maintenance and repair sector, horticulture, paint and chemical manufacturers, raw material and food ingredient suppliers, leisure parks, pet cemeteries and crematoria and builders' merchants – so that they can make informed decisions on the most appropriate products for their needs.

While the widest choice of competitively priced products remains a key commercial driver, we are equally committed to ensuring that that they are developed on sound environmental principles.

Fundamental to these principles is a 'closed loop' sustainability strategy that has seen continued growth in the volume of post-industrial and post-consumer plastics, board and other materials that we return to the production cycle for re-processing. Much of the polythene that we recycle, for example, is used in the manufacture of our own black refuse sacks.

Our over-riding belief is that a reasonable profit, which is the lifeblood of all companies if they are to endure and which is no less important to Cromwell Polythene, will be best achieved if our main priority is the welfare, development and reward of our employees.
