In the 1970s, CSM first turned to engineering and manufacturing thermal incinerators, now known as oxidizers, for the destruction of solvent fumes emanating from the exhausts of industrial ovens. With the establishment of the 1990 Clean Air Act, CSM expanded its involvement in supplying thermal oxidizers to include catalytic incinerators or oxidizers. Strategic alliances with major catalyst companies helped CSM grow into one of the world`s leaders in catalytic systems for air pollution control.
