We believe in a future  that has a huge demand for ecological and economical waste treatment and energy production solutions. We are at disposal to serve this demand.

Ecological and economic thinking
Plants designed and implemented by CTU are characterized by the durability, low operating costs and best results. For CTU sustainability means a safe and sound investment into a technology which can achieve excellent emission values for years to come.

New technologies
CTU does not remain stagnent. The engineers of the CTU strive to push forward new technologies and positively mould the future of environmental technique through continuous research and in close cooperation with its customers.

Experienced staff
Using experience of our staff and know-how, a significant added value can often be reached with little effort, e.g. a planned modification of a process plant, often after a long operation, could either  increase the precipitation rate of flue gas contents or reduce the energy demand of the system.

Thus, by using new and proven methods such as CFD analysis of flow optimization and / or the optimization of the separation process from a gas treatment plant reduction in operating costs can be achieved.

2010
For a long-term future of the company and to ensure the continued expansion of activities, the entrepreneurs and investors Georges Burki and Giorgio Gadola tookover the environment and energy activities to form a a new share holder own limited company, the CTU Clean Technology Universe AG.

2004
CTU expands into the field of bioenergy production and signs a license agreement for world-wide sales and implementation of KOMPOGAS® plants for fermentation of bio-waste and biomass. At the same time a strategic cooperation is initiated with Pyroforce Energietechnologie AG for gasification of wood.

2002
As a Management  Buy Out from German Babcock Borsig Group, the CTU - Conzepte Technik Umwelt AG is founded, which acquires employees and activities of the CT Umwelttechnik AG.

1999
In July, Babcock Borsig and VA Tech set up Babcock Borsig Power, a joint venture to which they contribute their activities in the power generation and waste management sector. As a subsidiary of AEE, CT Umwelttechnik is also a member of this group which becomes one of Europs largest suppliers of thermal plants and which also posses all established technologies in the areas of combustion, steam generation and flue gas cleaning.

1996
Austrian Energy (AEE), member of the VA Tech group, purchases all environmental activities from SULZER and establishes CT Umwelttechnik AG.

1980s
With increased significance of air pollution control SULZER develops processes for flue gas cleaning.

SULZER takes over the Swiss family enterprise Ghelfi as specialist in combustion of industrial and chemical wastes.

SULZER develops new processes for treatment of r ashes recovered from flue gas cleaning. The several FLUPIL ash cleaning and solidification process are built in Switzerland and in France.

SULZER builds numerous plants in the fields of hazardous waste combustion and flue gas cleaning which forms the basis for the technologies, business processes and personnel on which today's CTU is built up.

1960s
SULZER begins its first activities dedicated to the environment and establishes the water and wastewater treatment department.
