On-Highway Mature Emissions
Single Module - Ultra-High Efficiency Aftertreatment System
The Single Module is an ultra-high efficiency aftertreatment system. Previous aftertreatment systems were designed simply to meet emissions requirements. This system, however, was developed specifically to meet customer needs first, while also meeting emissions standards.
Off-Highway Emissions
Diesel Oxidation Catalysts
EcoFit Diesel Oxidation Catalysts reduce Particulate Matter (PM) through a chemical reaction that requires no cleaning or maintenance. In production since the early 1990’s, EcoFit DOCs have been customized for the challenging demands of off-highway equipment and unique space constraints.
Diesel Particulate Filters
Diesel particulate filters are a proven and reliable emissions reduction technology with over 1 million Cummins Emission Solutions DPFs in use since 2004. DPFs are effective at removing over 90% of Particulate Matter (PM). Combination systems are designed for rugged off-highway markets and to fit tight space constraints. The use of passive and active regeneration also allows more control in oxidizing and cleaning the filter.
On-Highway Emerging Emissions
Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems use a chemical reductant, in this case urea, which converts to ammonia in the exhaust stream and reacts with NOx over a catalyst to form harmless nitrogen gas and water. Urea is a benign substance that is generally made from natural gas and widely used in industry and agriculture. In our SCR systems, the urea injection rate must be tightly controlled. If the injection rate is too high, not all of the ammonia will react with the NOx, and some ammonia will “slip” through the catalyst. If the rate is too low, the desired NOx reduction will not be achieved. Both situations are undesirable and must be avoided.
Engineered Components
Urea Dosing Systems
Cummins Emission Solutions airless and air-assisted urea dosing systems enable reduction of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions for selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Our knowledge and experience with urea-based systems and components complement any SCR solution. Understanding the complexity of the commercial vehicles and equipment allow us to offer a more integrated approach while delivering optimal emissions performance.
