Recovery & Recycling Services
Dem-Con Recovery & Recycling processes incoming construction and demolition debris and recovers at least 50% of all materials processed. By recovering materials, Dem-Con reduces the amount being landfilled as well as recovering and recycling valuable resources. Dem-Con Recovery & Recycling was one of the twin cities first recycling operations when it was opened in 1999 and recently the facility has incorporated the latest technologies and equipment to make recovery efficient and effective. A building expansion and LEED credits for green building projects may be used for materials processed at this facility. LEED is a program created by the United States Green Building Council. LEED is an internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a building performs in relation to the stewardship of resources consumed and the measurement of environmental impacts.
Landfill Services
Dem-Con Landfill has been in operation since 1985 and incorporates approximately 120 acres of permitted landfill airspace in Louisville Township. Over Dem-Con`s history, the company has worked well with the local governments of Louisville Township and Scott County as well as the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Environmental protection is a main objective of a land disposal facility and Dem-Con has implemented an infrastructure to ensure protection of the environment. Dem-Con installed a liner and leachate collection system that collects all rain and snow melt water that comes in contact with waste materials. This water is collected, tanked and trucked to St. Paul for treatment. A landfill is an important part of an integrated solid waste management system that also includes waste reduction and recycling. For those construction and demolition materials that cannot be recycled, Dem-Con can offer assurance that your materials are handled safely.
Shingle Processing Services
Dem-Con Shingle Processing is a company developed to recover shingles resulting from the manufacturing process as well as tear-off shingles from your home when replacement is necessary. Tens of thousands of tons are currently buried in landfills each year and Dem-Con Shingle Processing is working to recover this material and provide alternative uses for this material to reduce reliance on virgin asphalt. Dem-Con has worked with many government and other organizations to develop equipment, specifications and end use options for this material. Local and mobile processing services are available.
