The Rapid Mapper is a two-axis encoded scanner designed for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using the dolphicam2 platform. This tool facilitates fast, freehand scanning over flat and subtly curved surfaces, supporting applications where accuracy and speed are paramount. Its design includes suction cups with encoders on both X and Y axes, capable of recording the location of the TRM in real-time. This feature allows the acquisition of C-scan maps over a 50 x 50 cm area swiftly, with the setup process completed in under three minutes. Delivering versatility, the Rapid Mapper can operate as an indexed stitching tool or in a dual-axis encoded mode, scanning up to 1m² within four minutes. Weighing approximately 4 kg, it is made for efficiency and ease of transportation, coming in a resilient Pelicase.
