Donley Technology has been a family business since its inception in 1988. The firm's offices are located in the Washington House, a former bed and breakfast, overlooking Monroe Bay in the historic town of Colonial Beach. The town was a thriving resort during the Victorian period and is currently undergoing revitalization.
Elizabeth M. Donley is the founder and Executive Director of Donley Technology. She has a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences. Elizabeth's career was primarily in the consulting arena prior to forming Donley Technology. For example, she was a consultant with Decisions and Design, Inc. (one of the pioneers in Decision Analysis), manager of systems engineering with Comarco, and a senior systems analyst with Cambridge Research. Since forming Donley Technology, she has been the firm's manager, visionary, publisher, chief editor, and project manager on the majority of consulting jobs for industry and environmental, health & safety software developers.
John W. Donley has been an editor and technical advisor since the company's inception. He has a B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering. John has more than 25 years in the environmental, health & safety field, including jobs in consulting, government, and higher education. In addition to his work on Donley Technology's publications, he was a part-time faculty member at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he taught courses in environmental, health & safety planning, regulatory compliance, and technology.
