Dorsey Metrology International
Dorsey Metrology International, founded in 1955 as Dorsey Gage Company by Theodore F. Luty Sr. and Helen Luty, is dedicated to providing precision craftsmanship in the field of metrology. Starting as a machine shop for inspection gages, the company evolved to design and manufacture custom-built equipment tailored to the needs of its clients. The acquisition of the Hamilton Watch Company's instrument division in 1975 expanded its product line, including renowned Hamilton-Datcon dial indicators. In 1986, Dorsey further broadened its portfolio by acquiring the precision optical comparator division from Pexit, enhancing its international reputation. The company, now under the leadership of the third Luty generation, continues to produce high-quality gages, inspection instruments, and optical comparators. Dorsey Metrology is committed to expanding its manufacturing and product development capabilities to meet global demand, maintaining a robust direct sales and distribution network, and upholding its tradition of quality and innovation in dimensional measurement. Special projects are a significant part of Dorsey's operations, with a strong focus on customer-specific gaging solutions and large component dimensional measurement expertise.
