Du-Co - Steatite Ceramic and 96% Alumina Ball & Socket Fish Spine Beads
Ceramic Ball and Socket Fish Spine Beads (also called “Fish Spine Beads”), are concave on one end and convex on the other. When ceramic ball and socket fish spine beads are strung convex to concave, the wire can flex, twist or bend and still maintain the ceramic insulation. Applications are, but not limited to: Insulating bare electrical wire in air or vacuum systems and high temperature heating element wire insulation. Du-Co Ceramic Ball & Socket Fish Spine Beads are available in bulk or in 6″ and 12″ paper sleeves. For sleeved ceramic beads, insert wire through the paper tube of beads and pull string which splits and removes the paper, ceramic beads are applied in seconds. Du-Co - Ceramic Post Terminal Caps and Skirts
Terminal covers (for use with post terminals). Individual ceramic terminal covers are designed to protect individuals from exposed terminals. Ceramic slotted skirt and threaded cap may be installed after wiring has been completed.

Du-Co - Metalized Steatite Bushings
Metalized ceramic bushings are widely used in ceramic to metal joining processes. The reasons for using metalized ceramic bushings are the insulation properties of the ceramic material, the brazing strength of the ceramic to metal bond, and the hermeticity of the bond. Along with standard bushings, Du-Co can offer many custom shapes and sizes. The current standard steatite bushing sizes can be seen in the illustration to the right.

Du-Co can take our standard metalized steatite bushings or custom shapes of metalized ceramic, along with a metal stud or lug, and perform the brazing process. This assembly step allows us to offer finished terminals for assembly.
