The Protection of Pumps: an Early Goal
Privately owned, Duperon Corporation was established in 1985. Founder Terry Duperon - employing his knowledge and experience of pumps and pumping, as well as understanding the problems caused by water-borne debris - invented the Duperon Self-Cleaning Trashrack (1979). This technology is now a favorite for tough stormwater and flood control applications in North America and as far away as New Zealand.
In 1995, Terry Duperon developed the FlexLink™ and created the patented Duperon FlexRake, which is now used in more than 675 installations in municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater and open channel applications. This important screening technology has eliminated the need for confined space entries by engineering out submerged bearings and sprockets and has dramatically reduced maintenance for screen applications.
Now a Leading Industry Innovator
Today, the Duperon Research & Development team is instrumental in forwarding advanced headloss management science and in the introduction of key liquids/solids separation technologies. With development based on the specific needs of the customer, Duperon remains focused on its tradition of innovation through the use of simple mechanical design. The quest for multiple functionality in each component has resulted in a dedication to the concept of 'two parts are one too many.'
In 1993, Tammy Bernier joined her father, Terry Duperon, as a partner. Terry Duperon possesses an entrepreneurial mindset and background in machine/tools that continues to guide the company to what's next. Tammy Bernier has more than twenty years of experience in management, as well as expertise in establishing company systems to assure maximum efficiency and reliability. In 2010, Terry assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and Tammy moved into the role of President and CEO.
