It is possible to recover a large amount of materials from Municipal Solid Waste, in order to reduce the volume and weight of materials going to landfill. One application for our Eagle Vizion optical sorter is to remove plastics, fiber and metals from the organic matter, thus preparing it for further process (composting, anaerobic digestion, etc.) Another optical sorting application is to sort the plastic recyclables out of the stream so; they can be used as RDF or resold on the recyclable market.

Eagle Vizion optical sorting units are mainly used in Single Stream systems to sort plastics by type (#1 to 7) and/or by color.

Optical sorting units can be used to remove the dark pieces of fiber (OCC, for example) from office paper or newspaper.

Optical sorting units are used to separate plastic containers per plastic type.

Eagle Vizion optical sorters have the ability to detect different types of PET bottles (with / without caps, with/without labels, with/without addition of other plastics) thus, giving the ability to produce a high purity of PET. Another application is to combine optical sorting units to existing washing lines. Optical sorting units can be used as a primary sorter or as a secondary sorter for plastic flakes after the shredding / drying process. This sorting application can be done by either color or by type.

The Construction and Demolition Recycling facilities are faced with the challenge of how to increase their diversion rates, while maintaining a reasonable staff. The wood content in certain C&D streams can reach 30%. To increase diversion and reduce landfill costs several C&D facilities lean towards wood recovery. With Eagle Vizion technology it is possible to recover a high percentage of the wood by maintaining a low amount of staffing for the wood fraction. From its original design, Eagle Vizion has designed its wood sorters for the rough environment of the Construction and Demolition industry. Beefed up air jets, and larger transition chutes make Eagle Vizion`s optical wood sorter perfect for wood recovery.

Metal detection and recovery/removal has become an increasing demand from our C&D to Plastic recycler customers. Eagle Vizion has introduced a new option to the optical sorter; a metal detection unit that can be installed to work in parallel with the NIR Vizion system or it can also be installed as a standalone unit.
