EcoSolutions is an engineering design/build firm specializing in the use of ecological design principles for innovative storm water, wastewater and site planning projects. We use a multidisciplinary approach, leveraging sound principles of ecological engineering and science to create sustainable design solutions. Our goal is functional aesthetics.

Chief Executive Officer, Principal Civil Engineer
David founded EcoSolutions in 2006 with a purpose to create a firm focused on ecologically sound design and functional aesthetics. He began his career as a civil engineer and pursued a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Vermont (UVM), where he helped to develop an interdisciplinary wetland research collaborative called the UVM Constructed Wetland Center (CWC). It was from this experience that he realized the importance of integrated design. His vision is to combine function and aesthetics on every project by combining infrastructure with the surrounding landscape. The result is enhanced environmental protection.
JUSTIN R. THORN, R.L.A.
Principal Landscape Architect
Justin is the Principle Landscape Architect for EcoSolutions and has experience applying Low Impact Design and sustainability to projects throughout the United States and the world. Justin’s experience includes working in San Francisco, CA and Washington D.C., participating in projects ranging from residential and institutional to urban and ecological planning. Justin provides input on all matters of Landscape Architecture, including Site Planning, plant and materials selection, and existing conditions analysis. Justin received his BLA from the University of Maryland in 2003.
ANNE E. ORELLANA WHITNEY
Marketing, Networking and Education Outreach
Anne heads the marketing, networking and education outreach of EcoSolutions. With a BS in plant and soil science from UVM and MATESL from St. Michael's College, Anne brings a dynamic perspective to the image and reach of EcoSolutions. Anne's experience includes 5 years of Horticultural work focused on landscape design, forestry and permaculture in Vermont, Colorado and Oregon. After receiving her MATESL from St. Michael's College in 2004, she settled into the life as a Vermont licensed ESL teacher for K-12. Now with a thriving family and small business Anne lends her creativity to the growth and sustainability of EcoSolutions.
