Elmia began in 1961 as a trade fair for agriculture and forestry.
Today Elmia arranges around 20 fairs every year within a variety of business areas. Elmia also runs a large number of customised events for external organisers, and is responsible for space rental and services.
Our own fairs include World Bioenergy and Elmia Wood, the world’s largest forestry fair. Elmia’s fairs are also the biggest of their kind in Europe for subcontractors, trucks, caravans and railways. The venue’s four exhibition halls have a total indoor area of 34,000 m2. There is also 300,000 m2 of outdoor space.
A large number of conferences, congresses, launches, events and banquets are also arranged every year. An ultra-modern congress and concert hall has made Elmia one of Sweden’s major conference and culture centres.
With over 30 years’ experience, we at Elmia have the right skills to make all the arrangements for everything from a small conference to a major international congress. One of Sweden’s biggest all-round activity areas
Elmia is part of a large all-round activity area. Within five minutes’ walking distance there are hotels, an adventure pool, bowling, curling, ice-hockey, squash, tennis, badminton and training facilities, to name but a few. Jönköping itself is a five-minute drive away, with all the opportunities a modern city centre has to offer. Elmia’s venue areas offer a host of possibilities:
Hammarskjöldsalen (A) seats 1,033 people. This venue has a stage for panel debates or a symphony orchestra, comfortable seating for long sessions, modern sound and lighting technology, etc. Also equipped for TV recordings and internal broadcasts.
Rydbergsalen (B) seats 291 people and has similar technical facilities to Hammarskjöldsalen.
Eleven conference rooms for 8 to 110 people.
The spacious foyers present opportunities for arranging small exhibitions. Coffee and light meals can be served in Café Syd and Café Nord(C and D). Lunches and dinners are served two floors down in Elmia’s restaurants with capacity for 1,400 diners. Self-service or table service – all based on your wishes.
