Farming communities across Cumbria faced flooding for the third time in less than a month, following torrential rains and high winds in the wake of Storm Desmond. The Environment Agency has issued no less than 23 flood warnings across England and Wales and 14 in the North West, urging people to take immediate action.
According to the BBC, the MET office has already issued yellow warnings for rain throughout the region for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
