The Teclis Tracker™ is an automated drop tensiometer that can measure variations in surface tension or interfacial tension over time at multiple interfaces. Contact angle measurements of a liquid against a solid are also possible. In addition, dynamic contact angle measurements can be made and surface elasticity or rigidity can be calculated. Three Tracker models are available which offer variations in pressure and temperature control along with automated drop formation. A camera delivers real time images to the user and motorization allows for volume or area drop regulation as well as oscillations and compressions. Some of the known applications for this technology includes: precipitated asphaltene in crude oil, gums to stabilize beverage emulsions, microencapsulation, cutting oil emulsion, and surface and interfacial tension measurements above 100oC.
