GIST
Model GIST-RT44 - Mutation Detection Kit
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the GI tract. Over 80% of GISTs harbor activating mutation in c-KIT and approximately 5-7% in PDGFRA. Although these mutations cause tumorigenesis, they also predict response to targeted therapies and provide prognostic information.
Glioblastoma
Model MGMTX-RT44 - MGMT Methylation Detection Kit
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) represents the deadliest form of brain tumor in humans, with current treatments usually providing only minor benefit in overall survival. Recent advances in understanding molecular subtypes have led to the identification of a number of biomarkers for a more accurate classification of GBM. These molecular markers show potential for better diagnosis and prognosis of GBM patients. MGMT promoter methylation status has emerged as an important biomarker for determining responsiveness to alkylating chemotherapy . MGMT promoter methylation leads to increased sensitivity to alkylating agents such as temozolomide and has recently been shown to carry strong favorable prognostic significance.
