Asbestos management surveys are the standard survey. Its purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos containing materials in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including forseeable maintenance and installation and to assess their condition. Minor intrusive work may be required during asbestos management surveys, however this will be dependant on client requests/building structure.

An Asbestos Survey report is not an Asbestos Management Plan. An Asbestos Survey Report forms a comprehensive material assessment of all the asbestos materials identified within the scope of survey. The material assessment will give a good initial guide to the priority for asbestos management as it identifies the materials which will most readily release airborne fibres if disturbed. It is the duty holder’s responsibility to manage and prioritise the risk associated with these asbestos materials and to prepare a long term asbestos management plan, as required under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Management priority must be determined by carrying out a priority assessment of the likelihood of the asbestos materials identified being disturbed.

On many of the smaller asbestos removal projects the client is often happy to oversee the works themselves, however where the removal works are more complex, or of a larger scale, our clients often want an extra level of reassurance that the contract is being completed to the standard required. The level of supervision we provide for asbestos removal works will vary depending on the nature of works being undertaken, services are likely to include some.
