Advancements in air-cooled generator designs have resulted in increasingly higher power ratings. The higher power densities place significantly greater stresses on materials and structures, making slight decreases in cooling efficiencies much more critical. Probability of overheating in these air-cooled machines becomes greater as designs are pushed closer to their critical limits. The GCM-A2 warns of an impending failure much faster than RTD’s or thermocouples. Why? Because RTD’s and thermocouples need to be physically near the hotspot, or wait until overheating progresses to the point that the temperature near the RTD or thermocouple rises sufficiently for the sensor to detect it. This results in a significantly larger “fault,” possibly a catastrophic one. The GCM-A2, on the other hand, detects the pyrolysis particles emitted into the cooling air as a result of overheating or arcing virtually anywhere in the machine.

When Hydrogen purity drops, windage losses and operating costs increase, resulting in lost revenue and profitability. Gas purity is also a critical life safety issue, making monitoring for potentially explosive levels essential.

E/One`s Generator Gas Analyzer (GGA) for hydrogen-cooled generators is a triple-range sensor/analyzer that provides continuous monitoring of gas purity during all phases of generator operation. GGA uses a proven monitoring principle, thermal conductivity. GGA is an extremely accurate, robust and stable system that eliminates the issues of drift and need for frequent recalibration seen in other thermal conductivity systems.

E/One`s focus on hydrogen-cooled generator gas monitoring and control systems begins at the point where cooling and purge gases enter the generator. Our Generator Gas Manifold (GGM) system is one of a range of standard or custom designed products.

Reduction in plant staffing levels is a growing concern in the industry and is placing a premium on efficient execution of all tasks and activities. Additionally, there are inherent safety risks associated with deploying personnel to perform a manual purge of the generator during emergency situations. E/One’s Generator Gas Manifold (GGM) can be configured to include an Auto-Purge feature that automates the generator purge process. A series of actuated ball valves are integrated into the GGM piping that, when initiated by the DCS, will quickly and safely de-gas and purge the generator with either CO2 or Argon gas (whichever gas is used by the plant). Optional CO2 vaporizers (sold separately) can be provided to speed up the CO2 purging process and prevent the formation of dry ice in the pipework.

E/One`s GGA/AUX Gas Station combines continuous gas purity monitoring with site-specific annunciation and auxiliary monitoring. E/One has optimized the auxiliary features to  offer an economical, fast lead-time solution to the unique requirements of any power plant. This GAS Station incorporates international requirements for hazardous area locations and is available in an open-frame or NEMA 3R configuration.

E/One`s sewer system lateral kits, often called `curb stops` or `check valves,` feature all components commonly needed to connect an E/One grinder pump station to the sewer main. Lateral kits are designed to be used with SDR 11 HDPE and Schedule 40 PVC pipes and include necessary fittings for easy field installation.

Air release stations are required on large sewer systems. E/One`s Air Release Station (ARS) uses the same rugged HDPE tank and lid as E/One`s W-Series grinder pump stations, but have an open-bottom design.
