REDD+ Services

Era has a deep history in REDD+ related services such as forestry, community based land management, remote sensing and geospatial analysis, and has been directly engaged in the REDD+ development space since 2008. As such, we are well poised to provide technical and policy guidance to governments, landowners, project stakeholders or prospective project developers.

Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard

Good forest carbon project design recognizes and expands upon the value of forests beyond carbon. Clean watersheds, continued access to non-timber forest products for local communities, maintenance of wildlife habitat are all essential results in best practice land use management. The Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance Standard (CCBA) is widely recognized as the most comprehensive third party verifiable standard for developers of high quality land use projects to demonstrate that their projects are honoring these values. The CCBA standard also ensures that project stakeholders are sought out as active participants and beneficiaries, and that projects do not operate without the free, prior and informed consent of those affected by project activities.

Ecosystems Services Assessments

Era can assist land owners in evaluating and measuring the ecological assets of their managed lands. Era has experienced foresters who have worked closely with landowners of all sizes to develop plans for sustainable forest management, wildlife habitat restoration, and permanent conservation. We have experience with major timber certification protocols including FSC and SFI.

Indigenous Community Services

Era has developed forest carbon and ecosystem service projects with several indigenous groups, including First Nations in Canada and Native American Tribes in the United States. We are also experts in evaluating Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) and leading community stakeholder engagement meetings in geographies ranging from Central America to Central Africa. Evaluation of legal issues related to indigenous populations and land management. Knowledge and experience working closely with tribal governance and corporate structures.
