Infrared & Specialty Equipment

Fostoria - Model 900 Series - Modular Infrared Fixtures

Fostoria 900 Series Sections with a parabolic reflector (Fig. 1), deliver infrared energy across a 130 degree pattern with the reflected infrared in a tighter 65 degree pattern. More energy can be delivered to the product with the parabolic shape.

Industrial Oven Applications

Fostoria - Thermoforming Systems

Fostoria Thermoforming Systems have greatly expanded in recent years.  We have developed a wide variety of equipment and have partnered with suppliers to offer a full turnkey solution for thermoforming applications.   This equipment is typically used by Tier One suppliers in the automotive industry, or for thermoforming in markets such as aircraft components and office wall panels.

Fostoria - Medium Velocity Warming Oven Systems

Medium Velocity Warming Oven Systems operate at temperatures ranging from 100 degrees F to 250 F and can be used for a variety of applications.  With more technology being incorporated in the automobile, wiring harnesses are becoming larger and require heat to make them more pliable and easier to install. These ovens are also used to allow pressure-sensitive adhesives to perform more efficiently at higher temperatures (such as with body side moldings) and where pliability aids fit (such as with rubber bushings applied to door fittings).

Fostoria - Specialty Ovens

Fostoria has engineered and manufactured custom oven equipment for a variety of industries and applications.  Our diversity allows us to design the best heating solution for the application.  These unique applications start with our state of the art test facility, to verify that the recommended oven design will meet or exceed customer expectations. These applications can often be difficult for other companies, due to the uniqueness of the process, but at Fostoria, solutions for unique applications have been commonplace for decades.  Listed below are several examples.

Fostoria - Infrared Shuttle Ovens

Infrared shuttle ovens relax and condition vinyl and other materials in a fraction of the time required by hot-air systems. Often purchased to improve productivity, they simplify handling by "shuttling" a warm sheet out with each cold sheet put in. The ovens feature continuous feed sensors to assure uniform temperatures, and a uniform result. Advanced oven models incorporate an exclusive pneumatic "trap" to clamp the vinyl on four sides, thus preventing dimensional changes prior to forming. Common applications for shuttle ovens include: door panels, dashboards, steering wheel coverings and arm rests. Manufacturers of air bag compartments use these ovens for pre-heating vinyl prior to vacuum forming.  These ovens are individually engineered and built to the specific requirements of the application. Listed below are examples of this equipment.tomers with proven oven/conveyor solutions; and durable, long-lasting equipment.

Fostoria - Belt Conveyor Oven

When designing the equipment, heating the product is sometimes only part of the equation.  How you transfer the product through the oven is also very critical.  Some oven systems require a specialized conveyor belt to ensure proper heating and precise product transfer.  Extensive lab testing and application knowledge acquired by Fostoria engineers for over seven decades, have consistently provided customers with proven oven/conveyor solutions; and durable, long-lasting equipment.

Fostoria - Overhead Conveyor Oven

Installation of an overhead conveyor system is an effective method for conveying product that requires many processes.  It is also useful in reducing costs when it comes to handling the product.  In addition, products may be  heated to a high temperature and are unsafe for human handling, and therefore require this type of conveyance. Fostoria can design and build a complete system or provide the oven for an existing conveyor line application.

Fostoria - Medium and Hi-Velocity Convection Ovens

All objects are surrounded by a relatively still layer of air which acts as an insulator around the object. This layer of air is known as the boundary layer. When drying a finish on the surface of an object the vapors pass from the finish to the surrounding boundary layer of air which becomes heavily saturated with the vapors.

Fostoria - Model ST Series - Seat Ovens

For the past 30 years Fostoria has been developing and manufacturing equipment for the automotive seating industry.  Through the years we have developed a variety of equipment to help solve wrinkling issues, or to relax trim prior to installation.
