Water
Although water covers 70 percent of the Earth"s surface, fresh water scarcity impacts one billion people every day. At GE, we"re committed to developing new technology to bring this essential resource to more people around the world.Selenium Removal System
GE’s ABMet process enables customers in the Power (FGD), Mining and other industries to meet the strictest selenium discharge limits in one simple step with minimal operating costs and operator attention. In addition, ABMet removes nitrate and metals including mercury and arsenic. ABMet’s innovative seed culture, specially formulated nutrient, and biofilter design provide one time seeding, fast startup, and reliable performance. With 17 years of experience, development, and a proven global installation base, ABMet is trusted for selenium removal.
Zero-Liquid-Discharge (ZLD) Crystallizers
In order to meet stringent zero liquid discharge (ZLD) requirements, environmentally conscience companies are turning to advanced technologies that eliminate wastewater streams and leave behind clean water and solid salt crystals. Combined with other brine concentration technologies such as evaporators, crystallizers concentrate the wastewater to a solid that can be safely disposed of in a landfill or recovered as a valuable by-product for use.
Electrodialysis Reversal (EDR)
Recover more from your high total suspended solids (TSS) and high silica source water. If your source water is challenging due to high total suspended solids (TSS) or high silica, electrodialysis reversal (EDR) for drinking water can provide high water recovery, reducing the strain in water scarce areas. Because of the polarity reversal design, EDR for wastewater reuse is a self-cleaning, durable membrane system ideal for turbid wastewater. EDR technology achieves high water recovery for water scarce areas and GE’s wastewater EDR systems reclaim more than 20 million gallons per day (75,000 m3/day) of wastewater for other uses.
Antifoulant Chemical Treatments Equipment
Better antifoulant chemistry to minimize the costly effects of fouled equipment. Process equipment fouling in oil refineries and petrochemical industries is an on-going, tenacious, and extremely costly problem.
Emulsion Breakers
Remove impurities and control foaming with patented emulsion breakers. In chemical production or hydrocarbon refining facilities, many units are designed to extract impurities, control foaming, and separate hydrocarbons from aqueous-based fluids. Over the past decade, GE has developed patented products (oil-based, water-based, and silicone-based) for improving phase separation efficiency while reducing overall operating costs.
Boilers
Tower Boilers
GE originally introduced the tower boiler design in the mid-20th century to utilize high moisture lignite in Europe. With standardization and modularization, tower boiler equipment can be sourced and constructed cost-effectively around the globe while meeting high quality standards.
Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
LEAPprimary - Advanced Primary MBR Wastewater Treatment f
LEAPprimary is an advanced primary wastewater treatment that combines separation, thickening and dewatering of primary solids in a single compact unit. LEAPprimary performs the same function as a primary clarifier and fine screen in the typical MBR plant. The figure below illustrates the performance advantages of combining LEAPprimary and LEAPmbr technologies.
LEAPmbr - Advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
Lower energy costs, increase productivity, and lower your footprint with our latest MBR. LEAPmbr* builds on 25 years of membrane bioreactor experience to deliver the most advanced MBR solution to date. It dramatically lowers energy costs, increases productivity, and offers a flexible design that can fit within a smaller footprint than conventional MBR technology. See how GE offers our wastewater treatment customers the lowest cost of ownership in the industry.
ZeeWeed - Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
Treat high turbidity water with a membrane designed for greater solid tolerances. GE’s immersed ZeeWeed 500 membrane is specifically designed for difficult-to-treat water sources. Drinking water, wastewater, water reuse, and industrial applications can all benefit from GE’s strongest ZeeWeed membrane to produce water with very high purity and low silt density. With more than two decades of membrane design experience, GE has optimized the ZeeWeed 500 membrane to improve flux, achieve greater permeability, reduce energy consumption, and increase membrane lifespan.
