The Genoil Sand Decontamination Technology (GSDT) is an innovative process designed to cleanse oil sands using minimal water and energy consumption thereby allowing the reclamation of refineries, well fields, waste pits, and beaches contaminated by petroleum. Genoil Inc. was one of the first companies to enter this field and our revolutionary extraction and soil remediation methods are truly unique. Our process removes and reclaims oil from the sand and has little or no impact on the environment. We are the only company of our kind using this innovative process that is both efficient and environmentally friendly. There is no one at this time that is able to reclaim the oil while returning the sand to agricultural grade sand meeting bit dryness (lack of water in the sand) and contaminates such as oil and metals.

Fish farms in the coastal areas create ever increasing pollution which harms both the environment and the tourist industry. Fish farms at sea typically use an open net cage system which allows waste water to leak into the surrounding environment. The high concentration of fish means a large load of fish feces in a small area. this can cause algal blooms which reduce oxygen in the area as well as produce ammonia, methane, and hydrogen sulphide. Without proper hygiene fish residing in farms are subject to a much higher incidence of disease, parasites, infection, and death .

The recent World Health Organization Guidelines on safe use of wastewater, excreta and black & grey water opens doors for other reuse opportunities than urban irrigation. This gives an opportunity to re-invent the role of sanitary engineers in the future of sustainable urban development to join with urban planners, developers and policy makers to integrate sanitation infrastructure in the urban planning and development agenda.

The Crystal Separator 2-phase oily water treatment unit is designed to separate the liquid phases in six stages located within a single vessel. Each stage is devised to remove oil particles of a certain size and to render the liquid cleaner for the next stage. This ensures greater effectiveness and manageable loads for each stage. Furthermore, it also precludes undue contamination and clogging of various stages by oil, resulting in trouble-free operation.

Genoil’s new Crystalline polishing units have been devised to remove oil particles to zero ppm. The most advanced polishing units currently in use cannot reduce the oil content below 50 mg/l. Furthermore, there is a limitation on oil particles size, which must be above 20 microns. The performance of older units is even more unsatisfactory, with oil content in the effluent exceeding 200 mg/l. The importance of minimizing the oil content cannot be emphasized enough. As produced water is pumped into the formation, oil prematurely plugs the well with significant economic losses.
