Commitment to learning
Provide a stimulating workplace where professional men and women can apply their knowledge and skills to assist our clients in managing risk in the constructed project and in their relationship to the environment.
Our mission is superior client service. The process of getting there is unique to each project and each client.
Providing the right team of talented specialists, identifying and managing the critical steps to success, and delivering a superior service - it's what we've done for more than 35 years.
Our Promise: GSI is committed to leading a company-wide initiative to improve our business practices and educate our staff on how to minimize our environmental impact.
Through GSI’s Eco-Awareness Campaign, personnel will be educated, encouraged and recognized for conserving energy, reducing waste, selecting environmentally friendly vendors and products, and incorporating other responsible environmentally sustainable behaviors into their lifestyles in the office and at home.
Times Have Changed - Superior Service Has NotGSI (formerly Geotechnical Services, Inc.) was born into a world caught up in change. In those days green was nothing more than a color and words like pollution, recycling, conservation, hazardous waste, ground water and ecology were just beginning to take shape. With its youthful outlook and boundless energy, GSI flourished.
From day one, GSI’s three founding brothers, Larry, Mel, and Dennis Cerny, decided they would strive to never become dependent on old technologies. That forward thinking resulted in the entire staff being computer literate from day one of operations.
No small feat considering it was 1973 and the idea of having computers at work was practically science fiction. In fact, Atari released Pong, the first commercial video game, just one year earlier.
Responsibility To Community GSI aspires to achieve a positive, socially responsible corporate presence through sponsorship of its employee’s volunteer activities and economic support of charitable community programs.
“Volunteering your time and talents is part of being a professional,” said Charles Brewer, GSI CEO and president. “I encourage all of my employees to get involved in community activities by not only joining, but also participating as officers and committee members.”
We have six Midwest offices: Wichita, Manhattan, Kansas City, and Salina, Kansas; Grand Island, Nebraska; and Des Moines, Iowa..
In addition to completing work in these states, GSI has served customers in Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado and South Dakota. We also have mobile labs allowing us to serve our clients across the country.
Our clients include agri-business; municipalities; developers and contractors; construction, utility, manufacturing, and petroleum companies; financial institutions; and federal and state government organizations.
