Geophysics Services
Geophysical surveying is a useful and cost-effective solution for investigating and characterizing subsurface conditions non-destructively. We have extensive knowledge and experience in the application of a comprehensive range of geophysical methods for environmental, geotechnical, hydrogeological and engineering projects. The methods and technology we use, like Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), help locate, detect, delineate and characterize many natural or manmade subsurface features. A professionally designed, well-executed geophysical survey can reduce project time and costs. Our geophysical services group has successfully partnered with government and private industries and completed an award-winning study for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Water Resource Management
Since Congress passed the Clean Water Act, government agencies, commercial and industrial entities, and developers have been facing more stringent requirements to protect our water resources. Geotechnology provides expertise on many facets of water resources management including permitting, monitoring and pollution prevention planning. Through our years of experience with projects of varying complexity, we’ve established excellent relationships with regulatory agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as various state and local agencies.
Construction Materials Testing
Our construction materials testing group approaches each job with a focus on client service and comprehensive project management. The team sees projects through from start to finish, checking compliance, and overall project issues. If challenges do surface, the team has reliable response mechanisms to assist clients with resolutions. Clients stay informed about testing results with readably available electronic delivery.
Drilling Service
Our drilling group provides innovative solutions to challenging drilling issues. Our team is comprised of licensed, highly trained drillers who are skilled in operating all of our drill rigs. We operate and maintain our own fleet of 15 fully equipped exploration rigs to provide our clients with reliable drilling services without the extra hassle of scheduling third-party equipment or services. Supported by an extensive inventory of backup and support equipment, as well as experienced project management personnel, we have the resources to go head-to-head with bigger companies while still providing the personalized service our clients deserve.
Environmental Services
Our company is committed to preserving the environment, and our environmental group helps clients do the same thing by providing assistance in environmental assessment, due diligence and compliance. Major focuses for our environmental group include site characterization and assessment, redevelopment, risk-based closure and solid and hazardous waste management. By delivering cost-effective solutions in a timely manner, the team is dedicated to providing clients with a quality outcome and professional service. Our environmental client roster includes projects for federal and state agencies, municipal governments, industrial clients, architecture and engineering firms, attorneys, solid waste management companies and developers.
Geotechnical Services
By combining innovation and skill, Geotechnology provides cost-effective solutions for a multitude of geotechnical projects, including design, consulting, testing and monitoring. Our certified, fully equipped soil mechanics laboratory is outfitted with modern testing instrumentation and is managed by a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience. Testing is conducted in general accordance with applicable ASTM procedures. Having an on-site soil laboratory allows our team of geotechnical professionals to quickly analyze soil properties and characteristics, thus accelerating the process of providing clients with recommendations for next steps. Our geotechnical services team has successfully completed projects for various government agencies, public and private industrial institutions, developers, architectural and engineering firms and construction companies.
Non-Destructive Testing
Our non-destructive materials testing group provides services for a variety of industrial, transportation and development clients. We’ve worked side-by-side with contractors, owners, engineers and architects to deliver quality service, earning us a reputation as talented professionals who work diligently to get the job done. We offer a comprehensive range of non-destructive testing capabilities including structural steel inspection, welder certification, and pressure vessel and piping inspection. We also use leading technologies like Phased Array, which is particularly helpful in projects requiring limited access, rapid inspection of components such as welds, and for sizing defects and cracks. This method offers advantages over conventional ultrasonics and radiography and allows for improved accuracy and efficiency.
Soils and Materials Testing
Geotechnology maintains a complete USACE Validated and AASHTO Certified QA/QC soil mechanics laboratory managed by a professional engineer with more than 15 years experience in soils and materials testing. The laboratory includes not only basic equipment for determining routine index properties, but also the advanced equipment necessary for determining engineering properties. All testing is conducted in accordance with the latest ASTM standards. Geotechnology uses triaxial and consolidation equipment manufactured by Durham Geo Slope Indicator and GeoTac. Data is electronically reduced using Excel™ spreadsheets or gINT. Most recently Geotechnology added a Thermal Conductivity/Resistivity Meter, which will measure the heat dispersed or retained around conduits so (cond) can be sized correctly, it will also measure grout which measures disbursement or retention of heat for material encapsulating conduit.
