In-Situ Bioremediation Services

Geovation provides a comprehensive choice of services to customers seeking anaerobic bioremediation solutions. Turnkey bioremediation systems design through on-site OEM. Bioremediation reagent formulation and on-site delivery/injection. Design, construction, and operation of remote operable, automated bioremediation delivery systems to reduce cumulative OEM costs for high contaminant mass sites and source areas projected to require long-term treatment. Design, application, and monitoring of anaerobic bioremediation processes.

Fluoresence in-situ Hybridization Microscopy Services

“FISH” (Fluoresence in-situ Hybridization) is a powerful tool for investigating the relative abundance and physical characteristics of different populations of microorganisms. FISH combines fluorescence microscopy with oligonucleotide probes--precisely designed DNA sequences conjugated with fluorescent molecules that are used to “tag,” visualize and quantify specific microbes of interest. Geovation’s multi-color FISH (“mFISH”) lab uses multiple probes with different color fluorochromes to simultaneously provide quantitative information on different sub-populations in the same sample. Geovation offers several mFISH assays to provide relatively rapid and cost-effective enumeration of important groups of microorganisms relative to other methods.

Biogeochemical Laboratory Services

Geovation provides analytical laboratory services for biogeochemical parameters to support bioremediation products and monitored natural attenuation programs for ground water. Geovation provides extremely low method detection limit (MDL) analytical services for biogeochemical parameters to support bioremediation projects and monitored natural attenuation programs for ground water. Geovation can provide data with MDLs of 2 to 10 micrograms per liter (ppb) for key biogeochemical and redox sensitive parameters in water samples including nitrogen species (nitrate, nitrite and ammonium), phosphorus species (phosphate and complex `hydrolyzable` phosphate) and sulfur species (sulfate and sulfide). Measurement of these parameters at such low MDLs enables the detailed spatial analysis of the resultant data, such that these parameters can be used as `tracers` of ground water flow and contaminant migration patterns.

Environmental Engineering, Groundwater & Water Resource Consulting

`Value engineering` re-assessments of underperforming remediation programs. Site investigations, RI/FS, focused feasibility studies (FFS) for evaluation of new and innovative technologies and turnkey site remediation services. Groundwater data-gap investigations, fracture-trace analysis of bedrock aquifers . Water resource evaluation and engineering. Vapor-intrusion investigation and mitigation. Storm water and watershed management.

Advanced Wastewater Treatment Process R&D & Design

Application of molecular biology and biogeochemistry to understand and troubleshoot WWT processes. R&D and design of advanced anaerobic WWT processes (e.g., `Anammox`) and sequential treatment trains for problematic WW influents. Decentralized WWT and small scale system design and construction management. Tertiary treatment R&D and design for N and P removal including enhanced biological phosphorus removal (`EBPR`).
