Oil containment booms can be stored on reels for ease of deployment and recovery. Reels are built to hold up to 500 metres of boom, although a reel holding 500 metres of boom will be extremely large. Fence booms, air booms, self inflating booms and tidal booms may all be stored on reels. Reels holding smaller quantities of light boom may be manually operated with larger reels being hydraulically driven. Reels are constructed from either painted steel, galvanized steel, aluminium, stainless steel or a mixture of different metals.

Application: Towing bridles are designed to hold a boom vertical in the water when under tow. Towing Bridles can be used in conjunction with all Global Booms from 0.5m to 1.2m (height). Aluminium frame with polyethylene float. Designed to AMSA specifications. Quick release, extruded aluminium ASTM connector with safety toggle pin.

Application: Tidal Compensators prevent oil bypassing a boom when water levels rise and fall and are particularly useful in tidal areas or water bodies subject to storm water surges.

Application: Global Magnetic Boom Connectors attach and seal an oil containment boom to a metal structure such as a ship"s hull.

Application: Correct anchoring is vital if booms are to perform effectively, especially when the deployed booms are subject to the forces of wind or current.
