Water Oil Spill Skimmers

Mini Weir Skimmers

A weir skimmer is used to remove oil from the water. A weir skimmer has three connected floats supporting a central shallow dish. The top of the dish sits 10mm - 20mm below the surface of the water. Upon starting the skimmer the water in the dish is sucked away by a pump. As the dish empties the surface oil and some water, if the oil is not thicker than 10mm - 20mm, falls into the dish and is pumped to shore. A special floating ring joined to the top of the dish with a rubber skirt that concertinas, will automatically re-adjust the skimming depth to 10mm - 20mm in choppy water. Global weir skimmers range is capacity from 5 tonne/hour to 120 tonne/hour. The larger capacity skimmers (40 tonne/hour +) have hydraulic driven on-board pumps with the smaller skimmers having external suction pumps.

High-Capacity Hydraulic Weir Skimmers for Efficient Oil Removal

Disc Skimmers

A disc skimmer is used to remove oil from water. It picks up oil with less than 2% water intake. The skimmer floats on water and has a number of rotating discs that sit half in and half out of the water. As the discs rotate they pass through the oil that is sitting on top of the water. The oil adheres to the disc. The oil is scraped from the disc and runs into a sump before being pumped to shore. The smallest floating Global skimmer has 5 discs and a maximum pick-up capacity of 1.5 tonne per hour. The large 40 disc skimmer with a 300mm disc has a capacity of 15 tonne per hour and 30 tonne per hour with a 450mm disc.

Brush Skimmers

Global Brush and Drum Skimmers are a floating oil skimmer with either rotating drums or brushes for high volume recovery. Perfect for Spill Response Crews who can choose either drum or brush elements, depending on the nature of the oil to be skimmed.

Interchangable Element Skimmer

Global Interchangeable Element Skimmers are a floating oil skimmer with either rotating drums or brushes for high volume oil recovery. Perfect for Spill Response Crews who can choose either drum or brush elements, depending on the nature of the oil to be skimmed.

Belt Skimmer

Belt skimmers are used for removing oil from sumps and ponds. As the belt passes through the oil floating on the water, the oil adheres to the belt and is lifted out of the sump. The oil is scraped from the belt and is collected in a drum or sump. The oil pick-up capacity of the skimmer is varies from 30 ltres litres/hour - 200 litres/hr.
