Core features of GridPro

Unique Technology

The proprietary DBC (dynamic boundary conforming) technology is the core of the product. The inbuilt algorithm automatically moves the grid blocks over the surfaces to ensure smooth and orthogonal high quality grids.

Flexibility

Topology (Block creation)
The topology paradigm offers high level of flexibility to create blocks so much so that a user can create hundreds of blocks within the time required by other block grid generators to create few blocks.

Topology Reusability

The block structure once created can be used on other similar configurations by altering the geometry. This helps the user to create subsequent grids with no manual intervention.

Quality

The automatic smoothing algorithm optimizes the grid to be smooth and orthogonal throughout the volumetric region. The default grid output is of high quality and do not require any manual optimization for most of the cases.

Built-in Scripting

The built-in TIL (Topology Input Language) is similar to the C coding language but is specialized to topology construction. It helps in automation of the entire process of grid generation from CAD to solver. Scripting capabilities in GridPro readily aid in the automation of other processes.

Parametric Design

GridPro`s inherent technology makes it a made-to-fit tool for parametric design. As users make changes in region boundaries to achieve the desired physical attributes, GridPro dynamically tracks the evolving boundary shapes and outputs the grid.

Multi-Scale Tools

Multi-scale issues arise in many natural ways. Quite often some important isolated small feature appears within the context of a big region or there may be some distributed small scale phenomena in a portion of a region appearing as objects in any dimension. These could be very small appendages to large items, long narrow items, broad areas with small details, or volumes with intense physical detail.

Addressing these small features becomes difficult for multi-block grid generators. For example, a dive plan for a submarine or a thin but blunt trailing edge of a wing.

For cases with small appendages attached to very large bodies, GridPro offers users the use of internal surfaces together with aggressive topology editing to very efficiently put local resolution in place.

For long narrow objects, the GridPro utility nest automatically provides a topology edit that allows users to capture long narrow items like blunt trailing edges of airplane wings with grids that have relatively small grid aspect ratios along such trailing edges.

All of these actions are done while preserving the inherent exceptional level of grid quality (smoothness, orthogonality, etc.).
