Groasis B.V.

Groasis is a socially active and environmental friendly enterprise from Holland that is founded in 2003 by Pieter Hoff. Pieter Hoff was a lily breeder and an exporter/importer of bulbs. For his work, he travelled across the globe and he saw many problems. Almost all his clients were using drip irrigation and were complaining about the declining water table, more and more areas were the victim of deforestation and there were more manmade eroded and dry lands than ever. He did not only think about the eroded, dry and wastelands, he thought also about the water shortages in the world. The UN states that already 700 million people in 43 countries are suffering from water shortages. At this moment we are using around 70 to 80 of the fresh water for agricultural purposes. We need this fresh water to drink. Besides the water shortages in the world, the world population is increasing. Will there be enough water to produce enough food in the future?
