ASTM Risk-Based Corrective Action Tool Kit Software for Chemical Releases

Designed to meet the requirements of the ASTM Standard Guide for Risk-Based Corrective Action (E-2081), the RBCA Tool Kit for Chemical Releases, version 2.6, now provides expanded flexibility and additional risk and transport models to allow for even easier application of this essential software tool to develop risk-based soil and groundwater clean-up levels consistent with local regulations or requirements around the world.

Risk-Based Corrective Action Tool Kit Software

The RBCA Tool Kit for Atlantic Canada is a region-specific customization of GSI`s popular RBCA Tool Kit for Chemical Releases software. It is designed to complete the calculations required for Tiers 1 and 2 of the Atlantic RBCA Protocol, including harmonization with the 2008 Canada-Wide Standard for Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil (CWS-PHC) developed by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME). The RBCA Tool Kit for Atlantic Canada utilizes default parameters, modeling options, and chemical data consistent with Version 3.0 of the Atlantic RBCA User Guidance Documentation.

Risk-Based Corrective Action Tool Kit Software for TRRP

The RBCA Tool Kit for TRRP is a state-specific customization of GSI`s popular RBCA Tool Kit for Chemical Releases software. It is designed to complete the calculations required for Tiers 1 and 2 of the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP). The RBCA Tool Kit for TRRP utilizes Texas-specific default parameters, modeling options, and chemical data consistent with the TRRP rule (30 TAC Chapter 350) and the related guidance issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Monitoring and Remediation Optimization System (MAROS)

The Monitoring and Remediation Optimization System (MAROS) software was developed by GSI Environmental Inc (GSI) on behalf of the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) in 1998 as a public-domain, data management and evaluation tool specifically designed to improve long-term groundwater monitoring (LTM) programs. MAROS provides both: i) optimization routines, to help determine the appropriate number of sample locations, sampling frequency, and laboratory analytes for site monitoring objectives, and ii) statistical analysis tools to evaluate the plume stability condition and remedy performance. The release of MAROS 3.0 includes several new and improved algorithms to review groundwater networks for optimized data collection.

Mass Balance Paradigm Software

The mass balance paradigm is an important new approach to evaluating Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) at chlorinated solvent sites. By using the mass balance approach, site managers can demonstrate that the assimilative capacity of a particular system is either capable (or incapable) of managing the mass flux of chlorinated solvents emitted from a source zone. In addition, a detailed mass balance at a site can provide valuable insight on:

BIOSCREEN - Screening Software

BIOSCREEN is a screening model which simulates remediation through natural attenuation of dissolved hydrocarbons at petroleum fuel release sites. This software was written in the Microsoft Excel environment for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Groundwater Sensitivity Toolkit Software

The Groundwater Sensitivity Toolkit was developed by GSI for the American Petroleum Institute and the California MTBE Research Partnership. The Toolkit was designed to help site managers, water purveyors and regulators evaluate the sensitivity of a groundwater resource to a potential release of compounds of concern (e.g., an MTBE-oxygenated fuel) at a particular site. The toolkit runs on Microsoft ExcelTM and comes with a user’s guide.

Mann-Kendall - Groundwater Analysis Toolkit Software

The GSI Mann-Kendall Toolkit is a free, simple, easy-to-use software tool to help environmental professionals efficiently conduct concentration trend analyses for any groundwater constituent.  Programmed in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet environment, the software employs the same Mann-Kendall plume stability methodology that was previously developed for the MAROS software (Aziz et al., 2003; AFCEE, 2004).  This software tool can be used to demonstrate the plume stability condition (expanding, stable, or decreasing) and track the progress of remediation efforts, in a quantitative and consistent manner for consideration by both site managers and regulatory personnel.

Mass Flux Toolkit Software

The Mass Flux Toolkit, developed for the Department of Defense ESTCP program, is an easy-to-use, Microsoft® Excel based software tool that enables users to learn about different mass flux approaches, calculate mass flux from transect data, and apply mass flux values to manage groundwater plumes. The Toolkit presents the user with three main options:

Matrix Diffusion Toolkit Software

The Matrix Diffusion Toolkit, developed for the Department of Defense ESTCP program, is an easy-to-use, comprehensive, free software tool that can assist site personnel to effectively and efficiently estimate what effects matrix diffusion will have at their site, and transfer the results to stakeholders. The Toolkit provides the following tools to calculate and evaluate matrix diffusion effects:
