Harsco began life last century by offering metal recovery from steel slag, and expanded into other services to meet the appetite for recycling in the metals industry, and beyond. Our core competence is designing, building and operating resource recovery process plants under long term service contracts.

Today, our activities span across hazardous waste management, environmental remediation, metal recovery, and co-product recycling. Our applications serve a wide range of industries, including electronics, oil & gas, firing ranges, mining and metals.

Ultra high pressure water treatment technology

Harsco’s reclamation solution for oily sludges and contaminated sands uses innovative technology to deliver unmatched cleaning efficiency.

It works with:

- oily sludge from oil production

- oily millscale sludge from steelmaking

- foundry sand recycling

- firing range remediation 

Harsco offers an ultra-high pressure water treatment service, which delivers 98% recovery of the oil and produces an inert non-hazardous residue.

When driven through a high pressure reactor, the contaminated material is separated into discrete streams for recovery

Harsco and Tetronics are global plasma partners, offering turnkey solutions to industrial waste recovery and recycling

Today, our activities span across multiple industrial sectors, providing beneficiation to a wide range of waste materials.

Our resource recovery solutions help minimize the environmental impact of production and derive economic value to the producer. We process by-products and waste materials to recover valuable metal or mineral elements, and commercialize the Co-Products.

Best available process technology
We are not tied to any technology. Instead, we approach the waste issue from the perspective of the material being treated and possible end applications for the Co-Products after processing. Taking into account local market conditions and environmental regulations, we select a process to achieve the required performance using the best available technologies. These range across mechanical, hydro, thermal, or biological processes.
