Heraeus Holding GmbH products
Bonding Wires - Fine Bonding Wires
Heraeus - Small-Diameter Aluminium Wedge Bonding Wire
Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Relatively high fusing current developed for chip-on-board (COB) applications. Excellent bondability due to homogeneous chemical composition, stable mechanical properties, and smooth and clean wire surfaces. Highly reliable aluminium bonding wire for fine-pitch applications, compatible with aluminum package metallization. Room-temperature bonding at low energy levels, preventing damage to sensitive devices while ensuring high-integrity bonds. Three hardness grades to choose from.
Heraeus - Copper and Coated Copper Bonding Wires
Copper wires offer significant cost savings compared to gold bonding materials. Excellent thermal and electrical properties. Diameters as thin as 0.6 mil, or in excess of 4.0 mils, for use in a wide range of applications. Copper bonding wires have grown in popularity as a means of making interconnects in an elecronics package, thanks to it's lower costs than materials such as gold, as well as high levels of electrical and thermal conductivity, and good reliability at high temperatures. In many applications, copper wire bonding can provide better performance and reliability than gold wire bonding.
Bonding Wires - Thick Bonding Wires
Heraeus - Copper Core Power Aluminium Wires
Power electronic devices serve various applications, yet new demands from sectors like electric mobility and renewable energies are pushing for materials that can withstand higher power densities and temperatures. Heraeus offers CucorAl Plus, a solution that combines the benefits of both aluminum and copper in a single wire, providing immediate advantages for existing power module designs.
Electrodes
Electrodes made of Platinum and platinum alloys distinguish themselves as electrode materials because of their high electrical conductivity and resistance to chemical attack. Due to our experience in the field of manufacturing electrodes, we are able to supply high quality solutions to meet your demands. Electrodes are made of pure Platinum or Platinum/Iridium 90/10. This material will ensure mechanical stability to make your application of the electrodes as convenient as possible. You can choose between four different designs of electrodes: Fischer, Winkler, Wölbing and Schöniger. Please find an overview of these electrodes at the bottom of this page. If required, Heraeus Materials Technology is pleased to check your request of specifically designed electrodes. Thus, only the most common electrodes are listed below.
Precious Metal Semifinished
Heraeus supplies precious metal demi-products in a great variety of alloy compositions, dimentions and shapes. Let us know your application criteria and we will be pleased to advise you in choosing the appropriate material. We produce rods with diameters from 60 mm to 1 mm and wires with diameters from 4 mm to 0.001 mm. Platinum wires with a diameter less than 0.01 mm are manufactured by the Wollaston process (i.e. drawn in a silver sleeve). The protective sleeve is etched off immediately prior to use by the customer. We produce the diameters and lengths individually to meet your requirements.
Heraeus - Bonding Ribbons
Precious and non-precious metal bonding ribbons are used for electrical connections when demensional accuracy, good heat dissipation and a low apparent resistance (impedance) are required with sufficently large connector surfaces. Very pure precursor metals (99,999 %) and special dopants additions form the basis for ribbons of high precision with good processing qualities. The ribbons display a homogeneous chemical composition, stable mechanical properties and clean, smooth surfaces.
Coated Quartz Glass
In modern industries light is becoming an important tool for advanced process technology. UV light is used for water disinfection, air cleaning, curing of adhesives and inks and for surface cleaning in LCD and semiconductor industries. IR light is successfully employed in rapid thermal processes in semiconductor, solar, food and various other manufacturing industries.
Electrodes
Combining our advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, Heraeus is uniquely positioned as a leader in micro (μ) technologies to the medical industry. Micro manufacturing of electrodes for the active device markets has been at the forefront of the component manufacturing of Heraeus.
Heraeus - Sealing Elements
The business unit Special Metals Technology produces precision parts from refractory metals predominantly by using processes involving forming technology, for example by extrusion moulding, stamping, compressing, deep and straight tube drawing. In this context, technically complex applications place high demands on work materials and manufacturing processes alike. Due to their extremely good resistance properties to temperature and corrosion a multitude of precision parts are specifically used in lighting technology (e.g., in discharge lamps for general lighting or as CCFL lamps – cold cathode fluorescent lamps - for the background lighting of flat LCD panel displays ) as a locking element or even as electrode material.
Infrared Emitter
QRC - Infrared Emitters With Nano-Reflector
In contrast to conventional reflectors, the new nano-reflector is not made of gold or metal oxides but of opaque quartz glass. Quartz glass is extremely resistant to heat, acid, alkaline solutions and corroding substances. A gold coating on infrared emitters reflects the radiation very well - effective radiation onto the product is almost doubled. Measurements show that the reflectivity of opaque quartz material is about 60% to 70%. This is less than that of gold but comparable to a high-gloss polished aluminium reflector. However, an aluminium reflector will gradually lose its reflectivity as aluminium oxide is forming on its surface. Such oxides do not form on quartz glass.
