Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems products

The Hosokawa Micron Air Jet Sieve utilizes the pneumatic sieving principle that enhances the accuracy and reproducibility of particle size analysis. Use of this device has become a preferred method for such tasks as quality assurance of incoming raw materials and the confirmation of final product specifications. While negative pressure draws all the particles below a defined particle size down through a sieve screen, a positive airflow is introduced upwards through a rotating wand. This airflow deagglomerates and disperses undersized particles and carries them through to the vacuum collector.

The Mikro® LPM Laboratory Pin Mill is the smallest model in the UMP line used for small sample grinding of 5 to 100 grams. The device is capable of producing materials down to D97 = 35 ?m. This compact model has self-contained controls, product collection and can be operated in a small glove box or flexible isolator.

The Mikro Bantam® Hammer and Screen Mill is ideally suited for granular to fine grinding tasks, producing batches from one quart to 55 gallons in size. It consists of a high-speed rotor assembly equipped with “T” type swinging hammers. The grinding chamber is fitted with a multiple deflector liner and a retaining screen at the point of material discharge. Because the grinding system is mechanically controlled, Mikro Bantam® Hammer and Screen Mill provide accuracy in particle size control. Once the mill is set to deliver a certain product, it will continue to produce exactly the same result without adjustment. Its space saving design lends itself for laboratory and small production applications.

The Mikro Air Jet Sieve – model MAJS is a highly accurate and reliable particle size analyzer designed for determining the particle size distribution of dry powders ranging from 20 µm / #635 (mesh) to 4,750 µm / #4 (mesh). The Mikro Air Jet Sieve model MAJSx² is the economical solution to particle size analysis of Chemical, Mineral, Pharmaceutical, Food, Plastic & Cosmetic materials.

The Micron Powder Characteristics Tester PT-X employs the methods developed by Ralph L. Carr (Carr Indices) to determine the “Flowability & Floodability” of dry powders.  The model PT-X is the latest design of the Hosokawa Micron Powder Characteristics Tester which utilizes state of the art features to identify the specific characteristics of powdered samples for a wide range of application fields.

The Micron Labomixer is a laboratory scale conical screw mixer designed to gently mix dry powders and liquid additives in batches up to 2.5 liters.  It operators similar to the well-known Nauta® Conical Screw Mixer using a rotating screw that  along the inner wall of the revolving inverted cone type mixer.

The Micron Peneto Analyzer PNT-N measures powder wettability, specifically speed and weight of liquids that penetrate the powder layer.  This gives affinity between liquid and powder.  This method is widely used in pharmaceutical and chemical industries to evaluate the surface characteristics between powder materials and various liquids.

The Mikro Vibratory Feeders is designed for the laboratory applications when low & accurate feed rates are needed for smaller mills. The unit is available in multiple different trough designs allowing the best possible metered flow for dry powders.
