Architectural Services
The art of architecture can be found where the subtle nestling of a pumping station within a community remains unnoticed, a skillful blending of design and function. HRC architects have skillfully mastered this blending of design and functionality, of water, stormwater and CSO pumping stations ingeniously designed to fit within the aesthetics of a residential, commercial or industrial setting.
Hydraulic/Hydrological Modeling Services
Computer simulations have become an important part of today`s engineering of stormwater, sanitary and water distribution systems. Modeling provides a means to cost-effectively analyze the capabilities of existing systems and evaluate complex improvement alternatives under a wide range of conditions. These models can identify an area where flow capacity may be limited or can assist with locating the optimal site for new relief sewers, pump stations, water storage tanks or booster stations. Models are used to support the design specification process and can evaluate the water quality.
Surveying Services
HRC provides a full range of surveying services necessary for the successful completion of infrastructure improvement and site development projects for municipal, industrial and private clients. HRC`s experienced survey crews work under the supervision and direction of survey crew chiefs and registered professional surveyors to provide accurate and timely surveying services to meet our clients` needs. Our crews work closely with project contractors to ensure scheduling of construction layout projects. HRC records, processes, and issues required surveys in the format determined by the designer. HRC provides research of survey documents and supplemental field work for the preparation of survey documents. Experienced survey office support staff process data and perform records research to support planning, design, and construction project phases.
Watershed Management Services
When it comes to addressing their environmental concerns and stormwater management needs, concerned communities and private and industrial clients look to HRC for planning, permitting, innovative design, and public education services. HRC Environmental staff are well versed in the most current regulatory issues and can provide expertise and guidance in dealing with regulatory, permitting, and design issues.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allow municipalities to easily access data formerly stored on hard-copy drawings, in spreadsheets or CAD files. Critical information about map elements can be accessed via a single digital interface that can be transmitted to work stations on a municipality`s computer network or across the internet. For example, using a mouse to select a sewer pipe can show the pipe`s diameter, length, material, year of installation, and direction of flow.
Industrial Facilities Design
Industry leaders and facility managers are faced with increasingly stringent regulatory requirements and reduced project budgets. HRC`s team of experienced engineers, architects and technicians provide personalized service and innovative, cost effective solutions to meet facility design needs for new and existing facilities. Our specialists can address specific requirements because they bring a flexible project approach, integrating people, materials, equipment, energy and the environment. HRC`s industrial client base includes automotive manufacturers and suppliers, airport facilities, landfills, food processing facilities and product manufacturers.
MDOT Services
The Michigan Department of Transportation depends on experienced, prequalified firms to provide valued technical and professional services and experienced personnel to successfully complete their transportation projects. As an MDOT prequalified consultant, HRC staff qualifications meet MDOT established standards in delivering planning, preliminary engineering, design and construction engineering services. HRC has utilized MDOT specifications to design and build projects for Road Commissions, municipalities, industrial and commercial clients. HRC`s Traffic Engineering Department is also readily available to provide traffic studies, corridor analysis and a wide range of services to address traffic concerns and assist with transportation planning efforts.
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is the application of modern information technology and communications to transportation operations and management. The goal of ITS is to improve the transportation system to make it more effective, more efficient and safer. By applying the latest technological advancements to our transportation system, ITS can help meet the increasing demand for more infrastructure by improving the quality, safety and effective capacity of our existing infrastructure. ITS represents a wide array of applications from advanced signal control systems to traveler information systems to collision warning systems. It is important to know which technologies and technological combinations provide the greatest benefits to the public agencies installing them and the motorists relying on them.
