HovaCAL - Digital Calibration Gas Generator

The HovaCAL Digital Calibration Gas Generator is a versatile instrument designed to generate test gases where they are crucial for verifying gas analyzers, especially when required test gases are unavailable in their proper form. It functions not only as a gas generator but also as a gas dilutor and mixer, allowing the precise adjustment of cylinder gases like SO2, CO, CO2, NOx, O2, etc., to desired concentrations. An added feature is its capability to humidify the gas mixture within a broad humidity range, creating test gases that closely mimic the complex composition of measurement gases, yet remain controllable and defined. Its elevated temperature output specifically mitigates adsorption and corrosion, significantly enhancing the response time of the generated gases. Variants such as the HovaCAL digital 211-MF and models integrated with evaporators like IAS HovaCAL digital 311, offer additional application flexibility.

HovaCAL - Calibration Gas Generator

The HovaCAL Digital MF is a portable calibration gas generator designed by IAS GmbH. It features two or more gas channels and is optimized for emission monitoring applications. This versatile unit integrates a flow rate sensor suitable for various corrosive and aqueous liquids, such as those containing HCl, NH3, or Hg. It offers flexibility in its operation, available as both portable and desktop models, and can manage multiple gas channels with optional temperature controllers for heated pipes. The HovaCAL Digital MF is particularly beneficial for verifying emissions in compliance with regulations like the 17th German Federal Immission Act, making it ideal for use in waste incineration facilities. It addresses challenges with components that are unsuitable or difficult to manage as cylinder gases, by generating hot, humid gas-vapor mixtures, eliminating issues with surface adsorption and lengthy transient response times. Notably, it can function without an external scale, making it practical in challenging operational environments.

HovaGAS - Digital Gas Mixer

HovaGAS is an advanced gas mixer capable of handling mixtures of up to twelve different gases with remarkable precision. It employs thermal mass flow measurement technology allied with digital electronics, significantly boosting its accuracy. The mass flow controllers maintain independence from pressure and temperature variations over a wide operational range, attributed to polynomial calibration that ensures high linearity. Users can expand the integrated gas library with additional gases and mixtures. Central to its function is the digital Gasmaster unit, enabling control, visualization, and automated gas flow calculations. It includes a parametrizable shut-off feature that activates when set thresholds are not met. Operators can engage HovaGAS either manually through an intuitive touchscreen interface or remotely via a PC using ViewGAS software, based on Lab-View. It's ideal for verifying gas analyzer linearity and endpoint, generating gas mixtures for test benches, and in combination with the HovaCAL calibration gas generator, these mixtures can be humidified.

HovaCAR - Automotive Activated Carbon Filter Test System

The HovaCAR system is an advanced testing solution designed for evaluating automotive activated carbon filters (ACFs) used to mitigate evaporative and refueling emissions in vehicles. As vehicles operate, fuel vapors are temporarily stored in ACFs, which are regenerated as air is drawn through them and redirected to the engine. During the development phase for new vehicle models, the HovaCAR system records the suction profile using real-world driving data collected either on a chassis dynamometer or on roads. This profile, crucial for ACF regeneration, can then be used by HovaCAR to simulate and reproduce the conditions independent of a vehicle. Modifications to the suction profile are easily implemented by adjusting the corresponding data file. HovaCAR also captures simultaneous readings of the temperature and differential pressure around the ACF, providing a comprehensive test and development platform for automotive engineers.

HovaMERC - Mercury Reduction Unit

The HovaMERC Mercury Reduction Unit is designed to generate test gas containing elemental mercury by reducing mercury compounds. Utilizing a process that involves the reduction of mercury chloride, the device operates in conjunction with the HovaCAL calibration gas generator. Located downstream from the HovaCAL's evaporator, the HovaMERC unit facilitates a continuous flow of hot, humid mercury (II)-chloride test gas through its reduction material, converting it into a precisely defined concentration of elemental mercury at the outlet. The reduction mechanism involves a reaction of chlorine and hydrogen chloride with the reduction material, releasing elemental mercury. Regular replacement of the reduction material is essential due to its consumption during operation. The HovaMERC is typically used in a setup including HovaTEMP and HovaPOR systems to ensure precise calibration and measurement standards.
