Climate change creates food and water insecurity, increases health problems caused by the spread of disease, increases the potential for political conflict caused by migration across national borders, and escalates the loss of property through flooding, or coastal erosion.Water Resources

Remote Sensing Service
IMSG’s satellite remote sensing science and technology team consists of nearly 80 scientists and specialists. Our team’s cutting-edge knowledge has given us the lead in addressing the critical science and technical needs in developing satellite remote sensing applications. Our scientists develop remote sensing algorithms for NOAA’s Environmental Satellite Service. Our expertise includes sensor physics, data calibration and validation, and remote sensing algorithms for the atmosphere, land, and ocean. These algorithms generate data that serve as inputs for weather forecasting, and climate, ocean, air quality, and environmental monitoring.
