The Bulk Density meter is a device that we developed in 2000 used for measuring the bulk density of substrates and peat during production. But first some history about the Bulk Density meter.

The Inadco Potting Reference Unit is an advanced extension to the INADCO Densimeter and INADCO Moisturemeter I, designed for precise measurement and sampling in agricultural and industrial applications. This unit features a cone that lowers post-sampling, with a sensor in the hoisting beam monitoring the tension of the hoisting cord and a distance sensor measuring the cone's traveled distance. Once the tension is fully released, the unit initiates the Potting Reference measurement. Upon completion, the cone is lifted, allowing the shovel to clean its bottom. The cone then returns to its start position, the cylinder is emptied, and if the start-signal persists, sampling resumes. This automated process ensures high accuracy and efficiency, making it an essential tool for professionals requiring reliable potting measurements.

With our bulk density analyzers, our belt weighers and our quantity control equipment, we have a broad experience in the production of potting soil. Despite this expertise for non-homogeneous and fibrous products such as biomass and peat, there are many challenges to overcome if you want to measure the moisture content of these inline. When measuring wood chips, straw fibers or other compressible products with rough structures, the same problems as stated for measuring potting soil must be solved because they are compressible, have changing surfaces and sizes and change their color from time to time.

With the Densimeter in a mobile version you can determine the bulk density anywhere you want in your factory. The mobile Densimeter can be easily disassembled to make it easier for transportation. The Mobile Densimeter can also be extended with the option Moisture Sensor.

Moisturemeter II is a measuring system for mass, volume and moisture. In 2015 we introduced the Moisturemeter II on the market. Our second generation moisture meter that allows to measure inline and instantly the moisture content in a wide range of products in a “streaming” process. Basically designed to be used in the biomass / energy industry. An industry with coarse or fibrous products like wood chips, straw fibers or other compressible products with rough structures and with the same issues as for measuring peat, because they are compressible, have changing surfaces and sizes, and their colour changes from time to time. Based on the experience we build over the years with ourMoisturemeter Ibut also knowing its limits we started developing a new system.

INDACO`s Bale Filler revolutionizes baling by using a weight-based filling system, ensuring uniformity and consistency across all bales. Unlike traditional methods that rely on filling time or level-switches, our system calculates the desired weight from the required contents in liters divided by the actual measured bulk density. This innovative approach eliminates the dependency on belt load and the variable behavior of materials within the baler. As a result, every bale produced has equal firmness and resistance, regardless of the product`s falling pattern or the loading conditions. Key benefits include consistent bale quality, uniform resistance, and dependable stacking capability, making it an ideal solution for industries where precision and reliability are paramount.

The stand alone Cross Scanner is mostly used for measuring the layer thickness of the product on a conveyor belt. An infra red laser line measures at 400 points every 100ms the height of the product over the whole width of the conveyor belt.

The INADCO Sampler is designed for industries requiring reliable and representative sampling from a continuous process, especially with challenging materials like biomass and waste wood. Ensuring consistency, it uses a flat rotating plate to collect samples every 5 seconds from a vertical product flow, depositing them into a weighing cylinder. Users can choose from four parameter sets to define the total sample weight and collection interval. Once the accumulated sample weight meets or exceeds the set target, the cylinder releases the sample into a drum, ensuring uninterrupted processing. This mechanism guarantees uniform sampling, critical for accurate laboratory analysis and quality control, making it ideal for applications in environmental, energy, and agricultural sectors.

There are many of bagging lines where products are packed in bags and where, because of the poor flowing properties of the product, it is hard to have a high quantity and a high accuracy in filling level going together. Many of those products are dosed per Volume, because that is a much quicker way to fill the bags than doing the filling based on weight. That is because filling based on a weight always requires a scale and standstill waiting.
